There's no way to get rid of the list; it's an integral part of  
BibDesk.  I suspect there was some confusion as to what you were  
really trying to accomplish.

If you want to see the underlying BibTeX, you'll have to use a text  
editor (TeXShop works for this).  The only way you'll see it in  
BibDesk is if your file has a serious error, in which case we show a  
window that allows you to edit your file manually and try reloading.
