BibDesk autocompletion is available in TeXShop.  I submitted a patch to Dick
Koch that was basically a modification of our input manager code, and he
incorporated it a year or two ago.  So if you enable it in TeXShop
preferences, you should get reference (\cite and I think \ref variants)
working.
