Perhaps it may help to understand that probably Christiaan means that you don't need to worry about the limitations of BibDesks TeX preview styles, since they are independent of the styles as you use them in your TeX document. BibDesk's styles matter only for the preview, not the final outcome. Or have I misunderstood one of you?
