That's how I understood Christiaan and I don't bother about the TeX preview,
since it does indeed not matter for what you get in your TeX document. It is
just a preview and nothing more.
When you typeset your TeX document, then the styles matter, but that is
completely independent of what you see in BibDesk. Remember, all information
stored in the bib file you work with using BibDesk is nothing more than an
ordinary, old-fashioned bib file with perhaps some few extensions (non
old-fashioned fields such as URL, file links in the records) and some comments
on the fact that BibDesk edited the file and saved at its end possibly some
data on static groups (beginning with "@comment{BibDesk Static Groups{ <?xml
version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>...). But TeX won't mind those extensions and
works happily the "traditional" way with the old-fashioned data in the bib
file. Thus, the style in which you write your article has nothing to do with
BibDesk and is an ordinary TeX issue (if it should be one).
