Mike didn't/couldn't attend because (as mentioned in his letter to Ald
Olson), he refuses to submit to the search at the door to the City/County
Bldg.

As to the detours - the "official" detour is Broom and W Main St. As
cyclists are traveling east on the Lake Monona Path, they cross John Nolen
at Broom (light), travel up Broom, take a left at W Main St and continue to
the edge of Brittingham Park.

I have actually forgotten what one does at the end of Main - detour to
Proudfit or if you can cut through on another sidewalk to W Washington as
we did last year......

My concern was the riding on Broom. That can be a VERY busy street, and
cyclists will have to make a left turn (admittedly off a one-way street at
that point) to get to Main. The motorists' flying rights and lefts as one
enters and exits the John Nolen / Lake Path corridor will also be tough to
negotiate. (Obviously, there really is no "straight through" lane for
motorized traffic going from Broom to John Nolen....)

Think we are going to have to have some workshops on how to "take the lane!"
