The new bike path will be much appreciated, but I'm wondering how westbound
bikers will get to the path from Odana Road.

Based on the existing configuration of traffic, I can think of a few
possibilities, but most of them involve left turns against heavy traffic,
and none of them are pretty. Do the designers of the path have any plans to
make it accessible to bikes?

Ross earlier. MG&E is suppose to bury the line to the side of the path and
in answer to several questions by me, said that the operation of the path
should not be disrupted during this project.

Fitchburg to the Odana Golf course, out through the Odana Golf Course
parking lot to Odana Rd., down Odana Rd. to a new substation behind the
Channel 27 TV station, from the new substation south to the Beltline Highway
right-of-way, and along the Beltline Highway to the West Towne substation.

First, an official access to the SW Path will be provided at the Odana Golf
Course as a part of the project. Second, a new bike path will be built on
top of the buried cable along the Beltline Highway. This path will go from
Medical Circle to Grand Canyon Drive which connects to the Struck St.
Beltline underpass. This path is sorely needed and I have lobbied for
something like it to replace the bike lanes that were removed from Odana Rd.
in the mid 80's.
