Ummmm.... I think each of Ms. Freiwald's comments would fall under the category 
of "facetious". (And I'm sure most of us join her in gritting our collective 
teeth at what Jeff Schimpff so aptly defined as "a model for all the 
spin-doctoring that has been going on at the federal level for decades, with 
the level of egregiousness having climbed precipitously in the past 7 years.")

This is the nice personal letter I got back from the Sec. of Transportation 
after I complained about her remarks on the Jim Lehrer Report about a month 
ago. I am no longer worried about how much the feds care about biking and 
walking. Obviously all is well with Ms. Peters in charge.
