I think this winter has almost persuaded me to invest in studded tires. I just
can't believe how poorly the roads were cleared but understand the pressures
the city is under & that they had to clear a lot more area than just the
downtown. However, it's difficult for me not to understand why areas like State
St & the Capital Square were not cleared better, especially since they don't
experience as heavy of traffic.
I suppose the city & the mayor are getting more pressure from motorists to
clear the main arteries thru town rather than emphasize the roads less
traveled. My only hope is for a warm spell & a strong desire to see the weather
change, which I realize is inevitable in the not so far off future...
Well, I guess I needed to break my "fall" record anyway & this season has set
a record of 3 falls, all on my butt, & the most recent last nt toward the
corner of Langdon & Lake. At least motorists have stopped to asked if I was OK.
OK, I'm done griping now. Let's all concentrate hard on warmer
weather...eventually it will come!
