Michael, Do you suppose to speak for this listserve? Maybe? If so, I suppose your "credentials" as a poli-sci major from Kansas certainly qualifies you for that position. If you as proclaimed proctor of the list feel National politics is a valid list topic as somehow the bicycle and bicycle segregated road improvements are a National issue, please do discuss Presidential platforms on this topic from your experience. But when political philosophy is brought up on this site in the future, don't haul off about it then.

John, I wouldn't let anyone hold you back from being political.

If ever there was a political bike list, this is it. No one has ever been able to stop any of the rest of us from being political.

Politics is nothing more than an exercise in the distribution of power--the who, what, when & where of it.

Demanding one's place in the transportation system is an inherently political act. Demanding to get from point A to point B by the mode of one's choosing--as long as it is peaceful--is heavy-duty political. That is pretty much what drives (so to speak) this list.

You can bet that when it comes to defending that right, I'm going to speak up.

If it takes electing better politicians to help get us there, I'd say go for it.

So I wouldn't be in the least bit shy about being political if I were you.

I wonder if the person whom sees' this site as being non-open to political forum, IE, expression.. would like a reminder it has been a politically community base effort and movement to bring the current building of public bicycle right aways and bike paths to this metropolitan region , I can remember the day when the East Isthmus bike path did not exist and there was only a gravel fire lane adjacent to the R&R.....you must be fairly new here..Hey??
