The idea of putting an hardened object like a metal stud in a softer rubber
medium like a tire would not have much durability, especially when one has to
use lock nuts to keep the studs from working loose. Not that I don't mind the
home-made snow tire idea. I just put plain knobbies on my bike. Maybe I ought
to rethink that, huh? Ah, the woes of buyers remorse.
