I saw one article recently where someone suggested "why don't they just put
in one bike lane". Gee thats a nice compromise. King Solomon would approve.

This issue came up shortly after I moved back in 2000.  When the alder at
that time came to our neightborhood association meeting, he accused 'outside
agitators'  ( I think those were his exact words) of undermining the
process. Which was pretty insulting, since our neighborhood borders on OM
Road. And I was in the audience..

I understand your reasoning for not raising this issue more broadly. But the
fact is this is a city road, and not a private resources for a few people.
Its sad that this attitude has stalled progress for 10 years.
