I was thinking maybe an air hose signal like they used at gas stations to make the bell ring. but a really loud bell so the people driving with their radios and cell phones on can hear. ;-POr maybe a foot switch by the pavement. But no, that would mean the highwaymen who built the crosswalk would have to admit that bicycles are viable transports. They put the switch out of reach to watch the cyclists bend over to stop traffic. OK, I'm done being sarcastic.

Are there plans to put the button on an extension from the pole so it can be reached from the path, similar to the one on eastbound Wilson at Blount? Maybe a little more pavement?
