Hi Margie:
I'm a recumbent rider; mostly I ride roads. I have seen some You Tube video
of recumbent riders on trails. If I remember, they are mostly the short
wheelbase type, which would turn and maneuver better. Also, they need wide
tires, and probably smaller wheels overall, again for turning. A few
recumbents have built in shocks - the Cannondale used to but as it is no
longer made you could only get it used. For used recumbents the best site
I've seen is hostelshoppe.com in Steven's Point.

Hope this helps.

Subject: [Bikies] kids recumbent bike

Hello,

Does anyone have any experience riding trails (not commuter biking in the
city) with their kids using recumbent bikes? I have a strong 6 yr old and am
thinking about fashioning / buying a recumbent bike for longer trails rides.

Thanks!
Margie Franzen
