My favorite trail in the area is the Pheasant Branch Trail in Middleton. They have provided alternate bridges over all the water spots now so you don't have to bike through the creeks ...unless you're my biking buddy (who never grew up) and wouldn't think of going on the bridges.
The South Fork Trail and then up the hill to Pleasant View Golf course provides one of the most awesome view that Dane County has - if you can make it up the hill!
