A plethora of riches from which to choose....

My suggestion might be common but is my favorite.  I love the stretch of the
John Nolen Path coming out of Olin-Turville Park towards downtown.  The view of
the Capitol over the lake with the Monona Terrace down on the shore is
beautiful - especially after dusk.  I also enjoy the seasonal variation of
geese, ducks, coots and other birds easily observable on the Lake from the path.

Hey fellow Bikies,

As I was riding along the other day, it dawned on me that if you lived in a
different part of the city, you might not know about certain stretches of my
commute.
* * *
Here's where you come in.

As self-appointed Bikies, I am seeking your nominations/brainstorms for
bike-related features in Madison to discuss or highlight during the ride. They
can be spaces, places, views, amenities, historic facts, mapping/route
resources, or favorite stretches of asphalt.

Send me one, send me many.  I'm interested in the commonplace and the esoteric,
the straight-and-narrow and the far out.
While I can't guarantee that anyone's suggestions will be included during the
event, they will certainly be considered and appreciated and perhaps will be
the nucleus for another ride or event.

I see this ride as less of an event-in-and-of-itself, and more of an
opening of an additional channel of communication for folks who need or want
to find out more about the existing infrastructure that exists to
support their decision to ride a bike around town- be it once a year, once a
month, once a week, or every day (of course my bikie bias loves to think
of this as a slippery slope).

If you are interested, please send me your submissions by Tuesday (Aug 17) at
noon.

Thanks everyone!
