I'd take the Yahara River path to Sherman (Tenney Park) and then wind my way through Maple Bluff to Warner Park Beach and then head to the park entrance. It's not as direct as taking N Sherman, but there's no traffic. You don't need a map to get from Tenney Park to Warner Beach --- just follow the lake. But there's always GoogleMaps if you want to make sure you don't go an extra block or two out of your way.
