Eric, I dragged 2 kids all over Madison in a Burley and it was wonderful, especially because it had a hitch at the axle and therefore no push-pull effect of what is often felt on hitches to the seat post.
More recently I bought a BOB Yak (single wheel, axle point of connect) and immediately fell in love with it because a) if a trailer has two wheel then you essentially "track" three points on the ground and feel bumps/holes from 3 tracks and b) if you ever ride trails you'll never snag brush. You could also check out http://bikecart.pedalpeople.com and build your own. There are a few folks in Madison doing this. I wish that I had my Yak still.
