Possibly every corner where controls prove ineffective, all parties should STOP.  A four-way stop was forced on the WisState#49 where the Chicago accountant and his client barreled through a stop sign from a County road to crush my car.  For this twenty years-----it has been a four-way stop, regardless of priorities.  Eric

I would suggest the signs be removed unless/until the street is properly modified,  or at least turn the stop signs the other way.  The current situation may well be giving some bicycles a false sense of security with now tragic results.
