What I get when I see pavement coloured for bicycles is a sense of self-righteous entitlement rather than a sense that my own caution is indicated. That might be due to my own pre-teen emotional age (yes, I am aware)-- but assuming others share that mentality-- and I think some do-- it's worrisome to think that some of the equation could work *against* safety. Maybe red is a better choice than green after all.
