Just curious Tony, Is it possible to place a portable/temporary bridge over the creek adjacent to the current one? Seems to me that the Corps of Engineers and engineering companies use them all the time. Is this something that was discussed. Always seems like bicycle pathways are closed with little thought about how to provide reasonable solutions to the consequence for bicycle commuters.

Thanks Chuck for forwarding this. I was slow getting info out on this project, but there’s more on the website and I’m glad to answer any questions. Short version: we are reconstructing and widening the Cap City Path from Marquette to Dennett and replacing the bridge over Starkweather Creek. Main downside: we have to close the path this summer for a couple months. With the bridge out, we don’t have much choice.

Forwarding an automated email I received about the planned replacement of the Capital City Path bridge over Starkweather Creek.

I don’t really know anything about it beyond what you can read below. Apologies if this has been posted to bikies before; I don’t recall seeing it.
