------------------------------------ You are correct. We are adding parking to the north side of Dayton. The reason is that for Kohl Center events, buses park on both sides of Dayton and westbound traffic would drive in the center turn lane. It was basically a mess. This is being done to make Dayton Street safer for Kohl Center events. There’s also the added benefit of more on-street parking available. There will be metered stalls on the block between Lake and Frances. ------------------------------------ Color me disappointed but unsurprised by this. The addition of parking next to the bike lane is certainly not an "added benefit" to me or others using this bike lane regularly. Furthermore, the city has now wasted an opportunity to install a higher-quality bike facility to enhance the connection between the SW Path and downtown. Good luck clawing those parking spaces back now that they've been put in...
