I live right at the intersection of Sheboygan and Eau Claire. The project
website,

(
https://www.cityofmadison.com/engineering/projects/utility-with-resurfacing-n-eau-claire-ave
)

says that northbound Eau Claire will only be closed between Regent and
Sheboygan, even though the construction goes all the way from Regent to Old
Middleton. If it's true that Eau Claire will be open both ways north of
Sheboygan, your best bet for a detour (if you're coming from the west and
looking to hook up with the Blackhawk path) is to follow Whitney from
Regent north to Sheboygan, make a right on Sheboygan, and then a left on
Eau Claire.

If it turns out the portion of Eau Claire is closed north of Sheboygan as
well, just follow Whitney to Old Middleton. You can even used the cool new
bike turn-lane they recently installed allowing a less-harrowing left turn
from Old Middleton onto the bike path.
