With regards to the shared folder situation, are there workarounds?
For example if I created a Maildir and symbolically linked it below the
IMAPdir for several users, would they then be able to access it and would
Binc deal with the concurrency issues, or would I end up with corruption due
to multiple people in the Maildir?

Thanks again for the help,

Bryan Call

I prefer the IMAPdir depot becuase it has more rational semantics that
Maildir++. However, it also breaks with qmail convention for placement of
the default mailbox (namely ./IMAPdir/INBOX instead of ./Maildir). Thus,
if you need to keep ./Maildir then Maildir++ is probably the right choice
for you; if you do not have any legacy requirements to keep ./Maildir then
IMAPdir is probably the better choice.

No problem.

Creating subfolders of the INBOX is possible with both Maildir++ and
IMAPdir depots; IMAPdir depots also allow the creation of folders that
are NOT under INBOX.

Shared folders are being considered for the next release of binc IMAP
(1.3); they are not implemented in the current release:-( If the last of
the bugs have been found in 1.2.3, then work will soon start on 1.3 (after
Andy gets back from vacation at the end of October).

binc IMAP is stable: I migrated from Courier a few months ago and have
been pleased (mind you I have a small user community).

You have the facts: shared directories currently do not work in either.
