Have you visited http://www.lifewithbincimap.org/index.php/Main/HowToPost ?
I think this is covered ok in http://lifewithbincimap.org/index.php/Main/GetHelpFromTheBincimapMailingList
I've just done a bit of restructuring. I've also added http://lifewithbincimap.org/index.php/HelpMe/SomeWhereToPutYourLog to show people how they can make use of the wiki as place to make there log file available before posting the mailing list.

I think that if we have 2-4 people that are thinking about updating the problem resolution procedures that we quickly cover 99% of the problems that people encounter when using binc. I (of course) would be one of the volunteers.
Agreed. Of course anyone can contribute here. I'll try to update the Wiki when I encounter new problems.
Is it possible to ask people who have just had an issue solved to quickly post something to the wiki? I find I write my best documentation when I've just learnt something for the first time as I include all the bits that eventually are taken for granted.

The HelpItDoesntWork section could need some structuring though; we could need to seperate at the root level with common starting points:
If people brain dump into the wiki I'll try and set a bit time aside every weekend to restructure the information. If people want to contribute thats really valuable and its a shame if distractions like how the information should look gets in their way ..

I would actually like to think of it the other way around; the Wiki should be the "depository" from which I pull out essential information used to build up the FAQ. Right now the FAQ contains more information, so I guess it's okay to just transfer some information over.
Thats a good idea .. I've gone a bit wiki crazy over the last month and a bit and have wikified all the documentation at my current work :) .. We now have the dilemnia though of how to produce formal documentation. It looks like using a wiki to help catch the ideas before people lose their oof to write about them, and then later distilling that information into a more concrete document could be a good way to go ..
