Did you restart the service? After editing the run files you must restart Binc IMAP with this command:
# svc -du /service/bincimap

This only shows that the "grep" found itself. :-)
Your run file looks perfect; you did it all right. You probably just forgot to restart the service.
Check this out when i try to login it will not allow me to because of
ssl however the line below should override the settings for port
143 right??? Guess i did not need fixerio oh well i sure it will come
in handy
I don't quite follow you, but if you say it works then I trust you. ;) Yes, the --allow-plain line overrides the setting.

This is also an indicator that you didn't restart the service.
