Is there some way binc might be following '..'? Because our NetApp

The strace will definiely say more about what's happening, but I can say right now that Binc does not follow '..' when updating flags. A fix has been submitted to the 1.2 branch which skips '.' and '..' in all cases. Maybe this is related, but I really can't tell.

Should I update to 1.2.9final or perhaps something newer? I held off just because the updates to the newer ones didn't seem to involve my problems, and I figured making lots of changes is not so good for the troubleshooting :)

I suppose one other odd thing about my setup right now... I've got the idle timeout set all the way down to 60 seconds. I'm using relay-ctrl, and I found that even 5 minutes had times where someone using the server would pass the timeout for relay-ctrl default of 15 minutes, since relay-ctrl only gets called at the beginning of a session... I don't know if such a short timeout might make binc confused in some cases.
