I've run some windows apps under it, but, I agree, it can be a pain to
configure and set up. I haven't tried it in a while so I hope that it
is getting better.
Justin, you may want to do a search of google.groups of posts to
comp.emulators.ms-windows.wine for the name of the application you
want to install. This will let you know ahead of time if you have a
prayer.
Just out of curiosity: what do you need to run? You might find a
workable application under linux that will do the same.
