Thanks for the info. Actually, I am not asking b/c Im looking
for any software in particular; Im asking because I work
for a small software company and we are trying to prepare
for the absence of Java support in Internet Explorer 6. We
do CBT, and we have a delivery system which relies heavily
on the use of Java applets within the user's web browser.
Because of the direction MS is taking with IE 6 and Windows
XP, we are considering moving away from this model
and instead making the client side application a small
downloadable EXE program (small because the meat of our data and stuff
would still be on the server side).

The vast majority of our users are on Windows, but we also
dont want to alienate *nix and Mac users. So Im pretty much
just looking around at the possibilities. If we do move
to the EXE client app, I want to see if there are any
ways to support other OSs short of porting the code.

I dont suppose anyone else is working on anything similar,
and/or making plans for how to deal with the new phase
of Microshaft products?
