I always recommend DSL though Steffen Computers; they can install DSL anywhere Bell can, but they have numerous advantages over Bell's DSL: 1) NO CAPS 2) All bandwidth is multihomed. 3) Static IPs available 4) Bandwidth comes from his LNS at 151 Front St. 5) VOIP-friendly, QoS to prioritize your incoming traffic coming 6) Servers allowed, no port blocking/filtering Basically it's a no-nonsense DSL provider who knows his stuff and is VOIP-friendly. He's even fanagled peering agreements with several providers to well-known VOIP providers to help provide absolute lowest-latency VOIP traffic. I know this because I work with him. I make nothing off of my plugging his service, except for perhaps the odd beer or cheeseburger. Of course, since I use his service both for home and office, strengthening his business helps ensure that I don't have to go back to shitty-ass consumer DSL. That, and having the root login and keys to the suite at 151 Front means if the excrement ever does hit the air conditioning, I don't feel so helpless. You can contact him via www.scsinternet.com, [EMAIL PROTECTED] or 416-848-4100. Ask for Mark, and tell him I sent ya. I doubt it'll get you anything, but it helps keep my free beer supply flowing. :-) -A. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
