Ah... there is no such service (that I'm aware of) for .uk domains.
Nominet tries considerably to obtain the renewal fee directly from the
registrant.  There are no timelines or written policies on how long they
will chase the funds until they delete the domain.  Given that, there's no
indication of how long after expiry a detagged domain gets released.
You're best just to keep an eye on it, wait for it to drop, and then
re-register it.
