Yes, and I don't object to this.  But do try this:

Open four windows, not stacked at all.  Have them sit neatly arranged
next to each other (like on
http://www.netmeister.org/screenshots/bb_work.png).

Focus the bottom left window using alt-tab (or whatever shortcut you
use).

Maximize using a shortcut (maybe this is the detail I forgot to mention
the last time?).  The window will cover the other three.

Now (Un)maximize again (using a shortcut).

Now focus the upper-right window _using the mouse_ (sloppy focus).

Maximize (using a shortcut).

Observe how the maximized window does NOT cover all other windows.

(Un)maximize again (using a shortcut).

Mouse-focus the first window.  Maximizing still covers all others.

Switch focus to upper-right using shortcuts (ie not mouse-focus).

Maximize (using a shortcut).

Observe how the window now DOES cover all other windows.

Repeat.  This is reliably reproducable for me.
