Ooh... don't know quite how to take that "favorite ROX supporter" business... ;-)
The ironic part is that I don't utilize it that much -- just a few icons on my desktop, opening the occasional filer window to view thumbnails, an "Apps" directory to store often used programs (which I can get to via keybindings, so I don't have to use my mouse to get the root menu). I've never even used the panel... I have to agree with you, though, about the packaging -- I often wish it could be just a straight tarball. The way Thomas has packaged it, though, is consistent with his experience of RiscOS, and fits into his AppDir philosophy (basically, being able to pretty much drag and drop a directory that contains a program and all its libraries -- it's a semi-portable way of distributing applications). Still miss those .tgz files, tho'. Overall, though, ROX *has* provided a way for me to have the benefits of a konqueror or nautilus, but with fewer resource usage -- which is extremely important on my 366MHz workstation. Which, in turn, is why I use blackbox...! (I had even installed it on my wife's -- now defunct -- 1.7GHz machine, which made for some blazing fast applications.) -- Matthew Weier O'Phinney [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] List archives: http://asgardsrealm.net/lurker/splash/index.html Trouble?
