Circa 2001-Jul-25 11:22:57 -0400 dixit cthulhain: : why not just darken the gamma level of the pinned menu by x? surely that : wouldn't have any overhead. What if the menu is already black, or so dark that darkening it more has little or no visible effect? How is a darkening an indicator that a menu is torn off? Better to use something more obvious and self-consistent, like close buttons on the titlebar. Menus already have titlebars, which afford being dragged around like other windows; putting a close button there not only gives the indication that a pinned menu is closable, but also directly and obviously provides the means to do so. -- jim knoble | [EMAIL PROTECTED] | http://www.pobox.com/~jmknoble/ | [EMAIL PROTECTED] | http://www.jmknoble.cx/ (GnuPG fingerprint: 31C4:8AAC:F24E:A70C:4000::BBF4:289F:EAA8:1381:1491)
