Must? There are no "must" in MUA preferences. It is a choice! I
prefer Sylpheed which has a well known interface. It works like mail
clients do on several platforms which makes it easy to learn and use
for a lot of people. That doesn't mean that mutt is bad or sucks or
anything. What makes Linux great is that there are options!

Some guy on this list even called me stupid off list for liking a
GUI mailer, which is what most people use for email regardless of
OS. I do not understand why this is such a big deal?

Because a lot of people like to have a GUI. They like to point and
click. Why shouldn't they get it? I do not understand this. I have
no problems with the fact that people like to use console based
software, I even use it myself (MC as my default file manager), but
I, and a lot of others, even AFTER having used mutt, prefers the GUI
ones like Sylpheed (and Balsa, but Balsa doesn't handle multiple
accounts well).

Shouldn't people be able to choose? Aren't options a good thing?
