Try doing this. Open up the workspaces menu with the third mouse button, select the icons menu, and then tear it away and stick it somewhere convienent :). BTW, I hardly iconize my apps myself, I just stick them into another workspace or shade them (I have a shortcut for shade), but I guess that's just me. I know of 3 other people personally who use Blackbox (not alot of linux geeks in New Zeaaland :) ), and we all use it a different way, so yeah, find a way which works for you Jerrold.
