heh. Welcome to coding. There is always a user somewhere who has a very important setup (to them anyway) which you had not thought of. One of the reasons I have not completely re-written the placeWindow code is that I have yet to find a solution that supports all of blackbox's current options. Right to Left, Bottom to Top is a particularly nasty combo.
