First off, this will have to be a compile time option at the minimum. The code depends on Xinerama functions from XFree4. So there will be the option to './configure --without-xinerama'. I do intend to look into the feasibility of runtime options for Xinerama. Will wait to see what the code looks like. There is always the chance this will remain a community patch. I am looking into some hardware so that I can test and experiment both with Xinerama and with blackbox's current multiple screen support.
