Sorry Herman. I'm running OSX 10.4.11 on a PowerBook G4. I tried the things you mentioned: no change. I've obviously also tried rescanning and restarting. Could it be connected to the fact most file paths show up in when I invoke them in QS with a 'tilde' at far left (I can't find it to type it). For example: tilde/Documents/DOCUMENTS CURRENT/Jake. Is that normal? I've suddenly remembered something. A couple of weeks ago, I discovered that 'Documents Current' (my main folder for docs) was in the trash. So I moved it back to where I thought it wabefores, ie in: Users/my name [in the house symbol]. Could this be the problem - even though I've rescanned QS since then... NB I can still access my file, I just have to go to Finder first, then search within Finder.
