The tilde ~ is the same as your house folder, eg: /Users/Josso/ = ~
So ~/Documents/ is the same as /Users/Josso/Documents/


On a Danish keyboard the combination for the tilde is Alt-Shift-^
I think it's Alt + n on an American keyboard.
