To just paste a recent clipboard history item, bring up the

good
idea) and then press the number of the item you want to paste. It
takes two keystrokes, but you get a greater range of options.

Yes but that will move my actual clipboard history.
Whats good about trigger is that it's 1 shortcut... or maybe I'm just
too used to have 3 clipboards.
Conclusion : You can't do it with QS (is that definitively right?)
i leave this question to be answered by the experts.
I think the outstanding question is can I use QS to have triggers that
paste fixed text without changing clipboard history? As Sesquipedalian
previously said, use the shelf and see the Clipboard and Shelf section
of the manual. http://mysite.verizon.net/hmelman/Quicksilver.pdf
I can think of 3 ways to do this:
1. Create a trigger with the text in the first pane and the action Paste
2. Put the text on the shelf, create a trigger of shelf (Show
Contents) and type to select the text you want (not one keystroke
3. Put the text on the Clipboard Storage (not the history) and use the
Internal Commands in the catalog for Clip Store Paste 1 and Clip Store
Paste 2 and assign them to triggers with the run action. This won't
work if you just Copy the text with ⌘C but there are also internal
commands Clip Store Copy 1 and Clip Store Copy 2 and you can create
triggers for those.
