Hi Yvonne,
Please accept my apologies. I did not read your post correctly and
posted a screenshot.
The screenshot showed
a text document, for example test.txt in first pane,
the action "open with" in second pane
and the application "Textedit" in third Pane.
By default text.txt was set to open with Smultron but i opened it
with "Textedit".
It all works fine. I had displayed the screenshot thinking that in
your case "open test with" was displayed instead of "open with".
Now, as much I understand frim reading your post is that the problem
with you is about hearing "open test with" instead of hearing "open
with". I dont know what software you are hearing with because the
inbuilt "Voice Over Utility" does not speak much or at least I can't
get it to speak.
Umm, ok, let me see if I can explain this. If you're using voiceover,
right next to the execute button, there's a sentence describing the
command you're about to run. For example, "open test.txt"
I have no idea how this appears, visually, but because of this, even
though I can't actually see the panes with VoiceOver, I can use
Quicksilver pretty easily. The problem is that, in the case of a file
or folder in the 3rd pane, the sentence is not complete. Instead of
saying, "open test with textedit", for example, all it says is "open
test with". In other words, the application textedit in the 3rd pane
is there, clearly, since the command runs successfully, but the
description of the command can't confirm this.
I have no idea if this makes any more sense than my first explanation.
If it doesn't, I'm going to have to find someone who can describe the
area of the interface I'm talking about.
