HI Philip, In the Pages section of this Google Group, you will find the FAQ page, which contains some potentially helpful info these problems. In the Files section you will find Howard Melman's very helpful unofficial user guide. I'll also add some of my own comments below, but definitely check those out. You can find the latest β56 builds at http://code.google.com/p/blacktree-alchemy/downloads/list (note that some people, myself included, have found that it may be necessary to start with a new, empty Quicksilver application support folder when upgrading to the latest version.)
1&2. I found that the ⌘Esc service menu entry was a bit flaky in Leopard, and moreover it would only bring in one item even if I had more than one selected file. So I changed the Command Window with Selection trigger from ⌘G to ⌘Esc, and it works perfectly for me. 3. You may have a corrupt trigger.plist. I've never had that, but occasionally others have run into it. Quit QS, go into ~/Library/ Application Support/Quicksilver, then backup and delete Trigger.plist. Restart QS and recreate your custom triggers. Usually that takes care of the problem. (Note: ~ is Unix shorthand for your homefolder. You can use this in Terminal. QS will even automatically select your home folder if you press the ~ key in the first pane.) 4. If I understand you correctly, you have the iTunes plugin installed, see the iTunes section in the sidebar of the Triggers tab, and have a list of many possible iTunes actions and scripts, but none of them have any keyboard combos set up to invoke them yet. Assuming so, then this is the expected behaviour. There are two reasons for why you need to set the invocation combos yourself. First, triggers like these are global in scope, meaning you can invoke them no matter what application currently has focus. That means it is very easy for conflicts to arise between a QS trigger and an app's built-in key combos. Since there is no way to know in advance what key combos are normally available in your particular situation, you have to define them yourself. Second, there are many options there, and you may not want to use all of them often enough to define triggers for them. Only the user can decide which are important enough to deserve a dedicated trigger, and which can be run merely by bringing them up in the QS command window. 5. Have you used the Put on Shelf action yet? The shelf is not actually created until you put something on it with this action. If that doesn't fix it, go to ~/Library/Application Support/Quicksilver/ Shelves and delete General.qsshelf, and then try again. If it still doesn't work, we'll have to try something else. I remember when I was first getting started with QS I ran into some finickiness with the shelf, but I'm trying to remember how I resolved the issues...
