Thanks for the quick response, Patrick. Unfortunately, none of them help. Since the other hot keys (F2, F3, F4) work just fine to launch apps, I'm pretty sure that the System Preferences setting is correct. Changing it kills all of those hot keys. I only have four assigned right now and all but F1 do what they're supposed to. I don't have QuicKeys installed on this machine, and I really don't know what else might be generating keyboard shortcuts,
It's very strange, because it goes directly to netscape.aol.com in Safari when I press F1, whether Safari is already open or not!
