I don't think I've heard of this problem before either.  Is QS trying to index 
the Time Machine drive? (That is, is it in the catalog). 

I would try removing plugins from quicksilver and and seeing if that solves it 
and if so, adding them back slowly to see if a particular plugin is causing the 
problem.
