Hi All,

I know there is likely a laundry list of plugin requests etc, and
everything I'm going to say has been argued before. However, many of the
interesting features linking quicksilver and email manipulation (likely the
2nd most common task in everyone's workflow) simply aren't available if you
are _not_ using Mail.app. The issue is that for a lot of people, Mail.app
is likely not their primary email client, or even used. In particular, I
think the Gmail/Mail.app integration leaves a lot to be desired. The
current gmail plugin does interface with gmail, but is nearly just the
minimal thing that one can do.

I know others have asked, but wouldn't Mailplane offer a unique way to
duplicate most of the functional code from the current plugins (I'm
guessing here, so correct me if I"m wrong), to get similar effects in
quicksilver for Mailplane which then acts as a nicely written Gmail
interface? Not being a coder, and knowing well the dev team (Patrick and
Rob, et al) likely have a TON on their plates, but out of curiosity, how
much work would this involve? I can see easy solutions through applescript
and stuff like that, but that feels like crap. In particular, tight
integration would make everything you want to do with gmail, doable in
quicksilver, as well as open people up to lots of the nice features that
Mailplane has to offer.

    Thoughts?

Best,
Lance
