Thanks for the suggestion, it didn't change anything though (fresh install and new user account). > Regarding the number of items in your custom Desktop catalogue, try to set a > depth for the trunk of the hierarchy, say 1/2, and adding from there the branches > as separate catalogues with depth 2/3, instead of setting 4 from the root. That would work, but it would mean a lot of effort because every time I reorganised files or added a new folder to the desktop I'd have to change my Quicksilver settings. I'd like to drag folders to the Desktop and have them (and their contents, and *their* contents) be catalogued automatically. I understand that I'm using QS as a replacement for simple search queries, and that isn't exactly its intended purpose. Still, if I could actually suppress all unwanted file types--as is supposed to happen--it would solve everything for me. I guess the other way to solve the problem would be if there was a way to get unrecognized file types to become recognized. Is there a master list somewhere that I could add file types to, so QS would treat .afm files the same way it treats .ttf files, and exclude them from the catalog when I ask it to? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Quicksilver" group.
