Let me know if it works. I'm thinking it will. Executive summary is as follows:
We create policy rules with match keys looking for specific filesystem types and pass the *volume.policy.mount_option* key containing the desired iocharset/codepage options. This has the affect of *adding* additional options to the mount command to what is already specified in /etc/fstab.
So you basically say that you don't want to keep the iocharset and codepage options in /etc/fstab at all, and want to pass them somehow to some unspecified agent that will actually mount the filesystem. Could you please explain how (with what command exactly) are you proposing to mount floppies? The regular "mount" command looks only at /etc/fstab and is, therefore, unsuitable for this setup.
Also, your file from the next mail doesn't add the "codepage" option to floppies.
