I have a question about Gnome. We have Chapter 33, GNOME Core Packages,
with several subsections:

Libraries
Shell
Extras
Utilities
Shell Fallback
OS Services

Are all these really required to get a basic gnome desktop? I
especially wonder about "Extras".

On the other hand, when we look at Chapter 34, GNOME Additional
Packages, are all the packages in Core required? I would assume that
the dependencies referenced in each package would be sufficient, but
that isn't stated explicitly. It looks like some do not make any sense
without a gnome environment (e.g. gnome-video-effects-0.3.0), but others
may well be run under kde or other shell (e.g. GNOME Games).

Perhaps a more thorough evaluation of the gnome organization in the book
is needed, or at least some additional explanation in the introduction.
