I have no opinion about this since I do not use Gnome.  I do have it on 
my TODO list to build it and try it out, but I've got a lot of other

I like this.  Please go ahead and add it to the book.  Do you have any 
problems with me expanding it a bit to explain the differences between a 
so library, real library, and linker library?

This looks like a nice addition.  A light WM alternative with few 
dependencies is good to have.

On my speaker, I have a physical wheel that moves from off to max.  A 
software volume control is OK, but many times there are physical 
alternatives.  I assume that this is a Gnome only utility, but if you 
think it's appropriate, do it.

If you have the source you want, we can always put it on anduin for a 
reliable source.  We already do that for several packages, e.g. OpenJDK, 
tidy, etc.  Actually *all* the sources are there, but we generally don't 
link directly to them.
