I'm looking at samba-4.07 and have been able to build, test, and install
it. I'm trying to recall if there is an issue with samba4 that
interferes with other programs. Right now our references are to

general/sysutils/mc.xml: <xref linkend="samba3"/>,

general/sysutils/autofs.xml: NFS (see <xref linkend="nfs-utils"/>) or
Samba (see <xref linkend="samba3"/>)

gnome/deprecated/gnome-vfs.xml: <xref linkend="samba3"/>,
gnome/platform/gvfs.xml: <xref linkend="samba3"/>
kde/core/kde-runtime.xml: <xref linkend="samba3"/>,
multimedia/libdriv/xine-lib.xml: <xref linkend="samba3"/>,
multimedia/videoutils/vlc.xml: <xref linkend="samba3"/>,
multimedia/videoutils/mplayer.xml: <xref linkend="samba3"/>,
networking/netprogs/cifsutils.xml: <xref linkend="samba3"/>
networking/netlibs/libsoup.xml: <xref linkend="samba3"/>

postlfs/security/stunnel.xml: <xref linkend="samba3-swat-config"/>

What should be our position on samba3 vs samba4? Samba-4.0.0 was
released last December.
